Windows Live pursuing Evite

We all know (and love?) Evite, the online calendaring / invitation service that's been around since the boom time. It's a handy little tool, and seems to be the default online invitation service that many use.

Microsoft and Windows Live has created a competitive offering, called Events (http://events.live.com). It's easy to use, and not a bad offering. It certainly is less congested with advertising, and seeks to integrate into the other Live community offerings, such as photo albums, spaces (blogging), etc. It will be interested to see how it does.

Also, if you haven't already done so, Windows Live SkyDrive (http://skydrive.live.com) is worth checking out, for an easy way to share files online.
