LDS Church offers Mountain Meadows apology

Elder Henry B. Eyring on Tuesday expressed "profound regret for the [Mountain Meadows] massacre," saying that "what was done here long ago by members of our church represents a terrible and inexcusable departure from Christian teaching and conduct."

For those familiar with some of the history surrounding Mountain Meadows, Tuesday's comments from the Church were historic.
