Two items of interest

Two items of potential interest:

First, a recap of the President & Vice President's meeting with the so-called 9/11 commission: http://msnbc.msn.com/id/4881058/ After all the fuss, it turns out "Cheney got few questions--and volunteered little." One still wonders why all the wrangling to have him and the President together.

Second, an interesting bit of irony for those following the volleys on both sides of the presidential contest: Dick Cheney has apparently been quite critical of John Kerry's votes to reduce and limit defense budgets and weapons systems a number of years ago (largely post-Cold War). Apparently, however, then-Secretary of Defense Cheney had pushed for these same reductions and cancellations, the ones he now faults Kerry for supporting. Let's play nice, gentlemen.
