I, Cringely . June 9, 2005 - Going for Broke

Robert Cringely writes: "Apple's decision to use Intel processors is nothing less than an attempt to dethrone Microsoft. Really."

He speculates that a merger between the two is imminent and that Intel goes on to own the PC market, provide Windows-capable Macs to consumers by way of higher-profit-margin-seeking OEMs, and that, in the final analysis, Jobs beats Gates and goes on to head the Disney/Pixar/Sony media conglomerate.

Unlikely, of course, but an intersting read.
