Most Overpriced Places In The U.S. 2005 - Forbes.com
Ouch. Forbes puts Seattle (again) at the top of its "Most Overpriced Cities" list. Essentially a measure of cost of living against salaries, Seattle comes out on top. I can sympathize, though I must say, it sure is a great place to live. And there are intangibles (look at any of these cities: NYC, SF, Chicago, Portland) that come with living in a great city that residents are willing to pay a premium for. Essentially, it's a built-in "what I'll pay to live in this place" cost.
